In 1983 Robert Duvall won an oscar for his portrayal of Mac Sledge a self-destructive country singer in "Tender Mercies"   

Below is Ralph's solo interpretation of the song that Mac performs at a pivotal moment in the film.     Unlike many of the other clips on the website, this song is presented full length and shows given a great song just how effective the simple arrangement of voice and guitar can be.
