      Bryan Tearful - The Depressed Cornish Baritone

Born and raised in Losthwithiel, Cornwall, Bryan Tearful is a crossover artist, specialising in the operatic works of West Country composer V R Gilbertson.  A former worker in clay, enthusiastic amateur footballer and graduate of the Launceston Conservatoire of Music,  Bryan first came to attention at a music festival in Porthcurno where he performed the roles of Shifty Sam in "Smuggler's Cove" and Sir John Dark in "The Prince of Truro"  

 V R Gilbertson is currently writing the role of Maxim De Winter in a new opera "The Return to Manderley", specifically for Bryan and this is due to be presented at the Camborne Opera Festival in 2010.    See here for a clip of Bryan in rehearsal performing Shifty Sam's dying "I'm Gone!!!" aria from "Smuggler's Cove" by V R Gilbertson.

Bryan is also known for his interpretations of maudlin popular classics. These include: The Smiths, ("Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now");  Roy Orbison, (Crying);  Elvis Presley, ("Heartbreak Hotel"); Hank Williams, ("I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry") and many others.
